Girls on the Run is primarily a school-based, after-school program designed to enhance girls’ social, psychological, and physical competencies to successfully navigate life experiences. The program uses running and other physical activities as a platform for promoting holistic health outcomes in third- through fifth grade girls. Boys get a chance to build their endurance, strength and most importantly, character through a new running program called STRIDE (Success, Teamwork, Respect, Inspiration, Determination, and Excellence of Character) that’s just for them. The program for boys in grades 3-5. Coaches will volunteer twice a week after school starting the first week of March until the third week in May. Coaches will finish the program with a 5K race May 18th with their team.
